King Juan Carlos I has instructed to file a lawsuit against his former lover, Corinna Larsen, and her lawyer, Dante Canonica. The information has been confirmed by EL MUNDO this Wednesday and they assure that this lawsuit will be filed in Switzerland. According to sources, the Emeritus King will follow the same path as with the lawsuit against Miguel Ángel Revilla. In other words, he will present a conciliation act expecting an apology and financial compensation from Larsen, and if not, continue a legal path.
Don Juan Carlos has started this offensive in a strategy that he has conceived to restore his honor, convinced that no one defends him against the claims of others. However, he does it with maximum discretion, as the circle that has almost daily contact with him but does not reside in Abu Dhabi did not know about this second legal case, which would have been filed abroad.
Don Juan Carlos's two lawsuits come seven months before the 50th anniversary of his accession to the throne and the speech in which he promised to be "king of all Spaniards." An anniversary that the Government will celebrate with an event presided over by King Felipe and Queen Letizia. But the government does not want Don Juan Carlos to be present, having been the main actor of that day. This absence, which despite being half a year away, the Emeritus increasingly sees clear, has led him to start making decisions from Abu Dhabi, where he has resided since August 2020, convinced that this is the way to restore his honor.
On neither occasion has Don Juan Carlos informed the Royal House of his decision to file these lawsuits. The Emeritus, who remains a member of the Royal Family, has taken these measures alone. In Spain, the law firm Novalex is handling the lawsuit against Miguel Angel Revilla, whom he is demanding 50,000 euros for his alleged defamations.
