It looked like a scene from a Tim Burton movie, paying homage to Dragons and Dungeons,The Dark Crystal, or The NeverEnding Story. A prelude to Halloween, who knows. Anything but a wedding. But that's exactly what it was. The second wedding of Princess Märtha Louise of Norway (52 years old), the most original member of the royal family and sister of the heir Haakon, with the Hollywood star shaman Durek Verrett (49). A huge black man like a three-door wardrobe, contrasting with the bride's snowy whiteness and delicate figure, naďf in appearance, deeply in love (in the singular) with her now-husband. The couple chose the stunning Geiranger Fjord, located in the west of the country and declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to exchange vows in front of their loved ones. The ceremony was officiated by Reverend Margit Love Holte following the Norwegian Church's rite, an evangelical Lutheran denomination of Protestant Christianity that allows women to be ordained as bishops. According to ˇHola!, which features the exclusive coverage of the wedding in this week's magazine, hymns like Amazing Grace were sung, and Prince Haakon read a passage from the Bible. Presumably, out of love for his younger sister, but also as a necessary whitewashing exercise following the recent domestic violence incident involving Marius, Mette-Marit's son, a twenty-something who, of course, did not attend the wedding.

The wedding's staging was, of course, the highlight and the most talked about on social media. The bride and groom's attire did not disappoint, and neither did that of the guests. Märtha Louise, who has been happily immersed in cuqui glamour since birth, wore a wholesale-like white wedding dress with a plunging neckline, classic cut, and floral embellishments. She didn't forgo the veil or any accessory (something old, something borrowed, something blue) and dusted off a very special piece from her jewelry box. A tiara that has been in her possession since 1989, received on her 18th birthday from her grandfather, King Olav, who passed away just two years later. This tiara, adorned with pearls and spikes, has been worn by her at many gala dinners and royal weddings, given to her in anticipation that her brother would inherit all the Crown jewels as the throne's heir. The bride completed her bridal ensemble with a super cheesy cascading flower bouquet, very much in line with her style.

The shaman groom deserves a separate mention, as he was the first to overshadow the bride at a wedding, not because of his skin color. It was his choice of attire for the occasion that left everyone speechless. He wore a dark suit with gold tie and sash, accessorized with Santería amulets. He didn't miss a nod to his beloved, as the couple's monogram, an 'M' and a 'D' created for the wedding, was embroidered on one of the sleeves.

The women of the Norwegian royal family, including Queen Sonja and Princess Mette-Marit, as well as the heir Ingrid, wore the country's traditional costume, the famous bunad, while the three daughters Märtha Louise had with the late writer Ari Behn (who tragically passed away two years ago) donned champagne-colored dresses. Maud Angelica, 21, Leah Isadora, 19, and Emma Tallulah, 15, were named witnesses at their mother's wedding to the American spiritual leader she met in 2019 through a mutual friend and with whom the girls share an exceptional bond. "I will love you until my last breath," the spiritual guru told Märtha Louise during their vows exchange, receiving applause from everyone present.

The wedding banquet took place at the Union Hotel by the fjord, as did the Sunday brunch that bid farewell to the guests. Under the theme of cool and sexy, the guests undoubtedly donned their worst attire. The Norwegian Royal Family, upset because the couple profited from the wedding despite renouncing royal privileges, stayed overnight aboard the royal ship Norge. In the photos, however, they seemed happy.
