On April 4, the death of Michael Gloss, a 21-year-old American who was fighting on the Russian side, was reported. He was the son of Juliane Gallina, CIA Deputy Director since February 2024, and Larry Gloss, a Navy veteran with experience in cybersecurity and a participant in Operation Desert Storm.

Eight months after his death, he was buried in his hometown of Fairfax, near Washington. Throughout his life, he traveled the world collaborating on various humanitarian missions, highlighting his involvement in the humanitarian aid provided during the 2023 Turkey earthquake.

A close friend expressed disbelief to the media upon learning of his death, stating that he had always been against war conflicts. His family and closest circle described him as liberal, concerned about the environment and social policies. He was opposed to U.S. policies, but his proximity to the Russian front was never known.

On August 13, 2023, Michael Gloss informed his closest friends of his presence in Vladikavkaz, North Ossetia (Russia). Subsequently, on September 5, 2023, he was registered in the health database of Moscow, with an address at a military recruitment barracks known for enlisting foreigners (Yablochkova Street). Michael would be transferred to the Avangard training center in the Moscow region, where he was seen in videos with Nepalese mercenaries wearing Russian military uniforms. The last recorded access to the Telegram social network was on March 14, 2024.
