Apparently, it was a routine visit following a domestic argument over playing PlayStation. However, what seemed like a marital disagreement with no major consequences led to the discovery of an arsenal with international connections. It all happened on March 31, around 8:50 p.m., in the Madrid district of Usera.
The Municipal Police of Madrid went to the residence after receiving a report of a dispute between a 41-year-old man and his 39-year-old Mexican wife, who claimed to be in the process of divorce.
According to the woman's testimony, the argument started because her partner does not work and spent his afternoons playing video games. In a moment of tension, she threw the controller on the floor, and he responded by raising his voice. This episode caused an anxiety crisis in their 19-year-old daughter. Upon the arrival of the officers, the woman mentioned that there was a shotgun in the house without any documentation.
When escorted to the bedroom, the officers found a long gun without ammunition. The husband explained that it was a family heirloom, "a memento from his deceased grandfather." However, based on the serial number of the firearm, the officers confirmed that the shotgun had an active judicial record in Croatia since 2018, which led to its seizure.
Shortly after, he admitted to also having a blank-firing revolver, also lacking documentation. He claimed that he had purchased it for 50 euros "from a gypsy at a market in Orcasur."
