Close to Lake Geneva (Switzerland) lies the home of a legend. It is La Paisible, the countryside mansion in Tolochenaz where Audrey Hepburn lived the last 30 years of her life, as she had always dreamed of having a house with a garden where she could feel at peace. Nearby are Geneva, Saint Moritz, and breathtaking views of Mont Blanc.

The residence was a former 17th-century farmhouse that the star of Sabrina decorated warmly and, above all, functionally because there she decided to raise her children, Sean (64), from her relationship with Mel Ferrer, and Luca, from her second marriage to Dr. Andrea Dotti (55).

If someone wishes to live in peace - that's what its name means in French - they are in luck because the exclusive real estate agency Knight & Frank has put it up for sale for 20 million euros. The myth passed away in this bucolic residence in 1993, and a few years later, her offspring sold it to the current owners, who renovated it in 2001 to preserve its charm and elegance.

According to the Knight & Frank website, the mansion has approximately 1,000 square meters spread over three floors, featuring 12 bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a heated pool, terracotta and oak parquet floors, dreamy fireplaces, and featuring beautiful white rose bushes that continue to bloom in the backyard garden. The property sits on 1.6 hectares - 16,000 square meters - with meticulously maintained lawns and century-old trees.

Hepburn was passionate about nature. In her garden, she planted flower seeds, took care of her vegetable garden and fruit trees like apple, cherry, and pear trees. To keep everything pristine, the actress found in the couple Giovanni and Rucchita Orunesu the perfect people to care for the garden and the house. Everything was utilized. From leftover seasonal fruits, they made preserves or the actress's favorite desserts like candied plums or vanilla cream with pears.

In the Tolochenaz Town Hall, Audrey married Andrea in 1969. After their divorce, 13 years later, the Givenchy muse continued to reside at La Paisible. The last decade of the actress's life was shared with the handsome actor Robert Wolders, widower of another legendary luminary, Merle Oberon, star of the classics Wuthering Heights (1939) and That Uncertain Feeling (1941).
