The President of the United States had said he was willing to negotiate them with other countries, depending on whether they had something "phenomenal" to offer in return.

This Tuesday, during a Republican Party event at the White House, Donald Trump boasted that his strategy had led other leaders to call him seeking a deal.

"These countries are calling me, kissing my a**, dying to make a [trade] deal... Please, please, sir, let me make a deal, I will do whatever, I will do whatever, sir," the president said mockingly.
