Elon Musk has introduced Grok 3, the latest version of his company's artificial intelligence (AI) conversational robot. With this chatbot, the billionaire aims to directly compete against ChatGPT and the Chinese DeepSeek, as reported by AFP.

Describing it as "terrifyingly intelligent," Musk highlighted that Grok 3 has 10 times more computational resources than its predecessor, launched last August.

The flagship product of his company xAI employs self-correction mechanisms that prevent errors - known as "hallucinations" - that plague some AI chatbots and lead them to process false or misleading data as facts.

"Grok 3 has very powerful reasoning capabilities, so in the tests we have conducted so far, it is surpassing everything that has been launched, to our knowledge, so it's a good sign," Musk said in a video call last week with the World Government Summit in Dubai.

This updated chatbot enters a crowded battlefield of increasingly sophisticated and profitable AI products.

Chinese company DeepSeek surprised the sector last month with the launch of its low-cost, high-quality R1 platform, a direct challenge to the ambitions of the United States to lead the global development of this technology.

Grok 3 will also compete with ChatGPT, OpenAI's chatbot, once again pitting Musk against Sam Altman, a former collaborator and now a staunch rival.

The launch comes at a time when the world's richest man is deploying the immense powers granted to him by the President of the United States, Donald Trump, to restructure and dismantle federal agencies.

This unprecedented budget cut has raised concerns about conflicts of interest, given that many of these agencies oversee elements of Musk's extensive business empire, which includes the social network X, Tesla, and SpaceX.
