Attacks continue in the Ukraine war despite Putin's statement on Tuesday that he was willing to negotiate peace, but not with Zelensky. The Russian petrochemical giant Sibur has temporarily suspended production in Nizhni Novgorod region due to a Ukrainian drone attack.
Russia has once again attacked the capital of Ukraine. The remnants of a destroyed Russian drone fell near a metro station in Kiev. The capital was on alert for approximately half an hour this morning due to Russian attacks, but no casualties were reported.
Meanwhile, Russia announced the capture of another town in Kharkiv, neighboring Donetsk and the epicenter of the Russian troops' offensive. This is the fourth town taken by Putin's forces in the Kharkiv region since late December.
Additionally, some units of the North Korean contingent of over ten thousand soldiers fighting alongside Russian forces in the Kursk region have been withdrawn from the front line due to high casualties, as confirmed by Ukrainian presidential advisor Mijailo Podoliak.
"It seems that even Kim Jong-un values the lives of his subjects more than Putin values the Russians," wrote X Podoliak on his account, citing "reports from the Special Operations Forces of Ukraine" as the source of information on the withdrawal of North Korean military units.
Ukrainian President's advisor Volodymyr Zelensky adds that North Korean President Kim Jong-un finds the losses of 40 percent of the personnel deployed in Russia "unacceptable."
As Zelensky previously stated, the over ten thousand North Korean soldiers deployed in Russia have already suffered over four thousand casualties.
