At least one person has died and 24 have been injured this morning as a result of a Russian attack on the city of Zaporiyia. Ukrainian authorities have reported that Moscow launched four missiles at a residential area, causing damage to several residential buildings.
The governor of Zaporiyia, Ivan Fedorov, stated that a two-month-old baby was among the injured before denouncing that the region had suffered 361 bombings in 10 locations in the last 24 hours.
Ukraine Conducts Major Raid Against Illegal Arms Trafficking
Ukrainian law enforcement agencies are carrying out over 1,000 raids in the country today against illegal arms and ammunition trafficking, as reported by the police in a statement quoted by AFP.
"The main objective is to shut down sales and storage channels, as well as seize weapons, ammunition, and explosives from illicit trafficking," said the national police in a social media post.
Russia Launches Over 60 Attacks on the Pokrovsk Axis
Russian forces continue to concentrate their efforts to advance on the front line axis of Pokrovsk, one of the most important cities still under Ukrainian control in the eastern region of Donetsk, reports Efe.
According to the Kiev General Staff, Ukrainian forces repelled over 60 Russian attacks in that mineral-rich area during the previous day. A total of 115 combats occurred along the contact line, according to the Ukrainian military report.
Rutte: "We need to intensify our support for Ukraine"
The NATO Secretary-General, Mark Rutte, reaffirmed on Thursday the need to intensify support for Ukraine to prevent a Russian victory in the war. "We need to intensify our support for Ukraine and not reduce it," Rutte declared at an event on Ukraine held at the World Economic Forum in Davos.
