The Data Integration Center (CID) established by the DANA and the subsequent floods that affected the province of Valencia on October 29 has conducted a detailed analysis of the 216 recorded fatalities so far in this catastrophe.
Over a hundred of the 216 deceased from the DANA on October 29 in the province of Valencia are 70 years old or older -15 of them are 90 or older- and there are nine minors.
These are the figures left by the rainfall on October 29 in the province of Valencia, with record levels never seen before in Spain, which overflowed rivers and ravines.
Out of the total number of recorded deceased, 131 are men and 85 are women, 190 were of Spanish nationality and 26 had eleven different nationalities, mostly from Romanian origin, with nine deceased. The rest of the nationalities are Morocco (4), China (4), United Kingdom (2) and one each from Ecuador, Venezuela, Ukraine, Netherlands, Tunisia, Colombia, and Paraguay.
The municipalities where more deceased bodies were recovered are Paiporta, with 45; Catarroja, with 25; Valencia, with 16, Alfafar, with 15, Massanassa, with 12, and Picanya, Torrent, and Benetússer, with 10, according to the information provided. It is important to note that the municipal term is recorded where the body is found, not the municipality where the deceased person was registered.
The total number of deceased left by the DANA amounts to 216 people, all of whom have undergone autopsy and are fully identified. Out of the 216 identifications, 168 were made through fingerprint analysis and 45 through DNA, while three cases correspond to hospital identification while alive.
Up to 20 judicial bodies, belonging to ten different judicial districts (Sueca, Torrent, Quart de Poblet, Mislata, Valencia, Llíria, Catarroja, Alzira, Carlet, and Requena) have initiated preliminary proceedings for the deaths of the 216 recorded deceased so far.
The ante mortem offices set up by the National Police and the Civil Guard in collaboration with forensic doctors currently have 16 active files for reports of disappearances, according to Wednesday's data, as reported by Europa Press.
