Minister Margarita Robles confirms that "many people are still missing" in Valencia after the DANA storm in Spain

One day after the terror of the DANA, the search for the missing continues, and dozens of people are still missing. At least 95 people have died, damage is uncountable with roads cut off and areas isolated by water, mud and landslides.

"It is a very hard and difficult moment". The Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles, has summarized in one sentence the feelings of the 1,205 troops of the Military Emergency Unit and the Special Operations Command of the Army that since Tuesday night have been working to locate survivors and victims of the DANA that shook the Valencian Community, Cuenca and Albacete, reports Marina Pina from EL MUNDO.

In an interview to 'La mirada crítica' the minister has recognized that it is not possible to specify data of the missing people, although she has confirmed that "there are many". She has also advanced that this Thursday morning the UME is going to devote "to the work of the search for missing persons". His work will focus mainly on Paiporta and Massanassa, there suspect that "there may be people in garages and basements who went to look for their cars," he explained. Robles has acknowledged that they have no contact with these people but has not lost hope: "It may be because communications are cut".

The minister recalled that throughout Wednesday, the military rescued more than a hundred people, and also recovered 24 bodies.

"There are 51 dog teams for debris removal and to see if there are people alive," he explained.

They also have deployed more than 300 vehicles, 15 helicopters and 18 drones. "If special services are needed in any locality, let us know," said Robles, who pledged that they will continue working "as long as necessary.
