Volodymyr Zelenski has warned this Thursday in Brussels that "the first step towards world war" is already underway. North Korea has 10,000 soldiers prepared "to fight" against Ukraine, and they are already located "in the occupied territory of Donbás".

"It is something that I urgently discussed with the United States and I have also talked about it with European leaders," said the President of Ukraine after participating in the European Council being held today and tomorrow in the EU capital. And in that same press conference he held after meeting with the top European officials, he pointed out that North Korea would be the second country, in addition to Ukraine and Russia, to intervene in the war. The first to do so, he noted, is Iran, which has sent "missiles and drones but not troops".

Zelensky wanted to make his message and warning very clear that the world is heading towards a world war. After the first part of the press conference given in Ukrainian, the Ukrainian president switched to English at that moment, so that his words were fully understandable to everyone in the room without the need for translation.

Zelensky?s warning about a major international conflict is not the first to occur in recent times. Pope Francis, during the visit he made to Brussels at the end of last month, stated that there is a real risk of starting an "almost world war". "I pray that the leaders of nations spare their peoples from incessant catastrophes and countless mourning," he said in his first speech in Belgium.
