On the 966th day of the war, Russia has reported a successful attack with five missiles on a Ukrainian armored factory in the Ukrainian city of Mykolaiv, which destroyed 10 armored vehicles, "including six tanks."

Additionally, Kiev authorities have reported that Russia has launched a massive drone attack across much of its territory, causing a fire at an industrial facility in the Ternopil region.

The Air Force specified that Moscow had sent 136 attack drones and three missiles, with 51 drones being destroyed over 14 Ukrainian regions. Late on Tuesday, the mayor of Kiev stated that the capital was under drone attack and urged the population to "seek shelter."

On another note, United States has expressed concern over reports indicating that North Korean soldiers may be fighting for Russia in Ukraine. The White House National Security Council spokesperson, Sean Savett, acknowledged in a statement that if true, it would mark a significant increase in defense relations between the two countries.

Washington asserts that North Korea has supplied ballistic missiles and ammunition to Russia, a claim Moscow denies, but admits to a commitment to enhance military ties between the two countries.

Ukraine seeks NATO invitation before Biden leaves the White House

Ukraine is requesting an invitation to join NATO before Joe Biden leaves the White House, arguing that it would be an appropriate legacy for the US president. "Our idea is that giving Ukraine an invitation at this moment is a political signal," said Nataliia Galibarenko, Kiev's ambassador to NATO, in an interview in front of the alliance's headquarters in Brussels.

"We sincerely believe it can be part of the current US administration's legacy," she added.

The upcoming US presidential elections create great uncertainty for Ukraine, as Washington has been the main provider of military aid to Kiev for its war against the Russian invasion.

US concerned about North Korea's involvement in the war

United States has expressed concern over reports indicating that North Korean soldiers may be fighting for Russia in Ukraine.

Russia launched a series of drone and missile attacks across Ukrainian territory early this morning, causing a fire at an industrial plant in the Ternopil region in the west of the country, as reported by Ukrainian officials and Reuters.

By 04:40 GMT, Russia had launched around 136 attack drones against Ukraine and three missiles, with the Ukrainian anti-aircraft defense destroying 51 of them, as reported by the Ukrainian Air Force. The 51 drones were destroyed over 14 regions, including Kiev, but it was not clear what happened to the three missiles.

The large-scale fire in the Ternopil region has been extinguished, requiring 46 firefighters and 12 special units to put it out.
