The fighting continues in Lebanon between Hezbollah and Israel, which tonight has once again targeted southern Beirut. In a new bombing in the suburbs of the Lebanese capital, at least nine people have been killed and nearly a dozen injured after a building hit by a missile collapsed.

The death toll from the confrontation between the militia and the Israelis continues to rise and now stands at nearly 2,000. Just this Wednesday, 46 people died and 85 were injured in the Israeli bombings against Lebanon, as reported by the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health.

Israel and Hezbollah have been at odds since the start of the war in the Gaza Strip almost a year ago, but the violence escalated to unprecedented levels since 2006 two weeks ago when Israeli forces launched a massive bombing campaign that has devastated entire towns and villages.

In the afternoon, the Israeli army said its fighter jets attacked targets belonging to Hezbollah's intelligence headquarters in Beirut.

Israel accuses Hezbollah of using the main border crossing with Syria to introduce weaponry

The Israeli Army stated on Thursday that the Shiite group Hezbollah is using the main Syrian-Lebanese border post, known as Masnaa in Lebanon and Jdeidet Yabous in Syria, to introduce military material into the country and threatened to "act (attack)" if the Lebanese Army, which controls it, does not prevent the entry of trucks with weapons.

"The Army (Israeli) will not allow the smuggling of these weapons and will not hesitate to act if forced to do so, as it has done throughout this war," stated the Arabic spokesperson for the Israeli Armed Forces, Avichay Adraee, on his X account. Faced with the threats, Lebanese authorities have limited themselves to confirming that they control said crossing and all others in the country.
