Combat continues in Lebanon between Hezbollah and Israel, which tonight has once again targeted southern Beirut. In a new bombing in the suburbs of the Lebanese capital, at least nine people have been killed and nearly a dozen injured after a building hit by a missile collapsed.

The death toll from the confrontation between the militia and the Israelis continues to rise and now stands at nearly 2,000. Just this Wednesday, 46 people died and 85 were injured in the Israeli airstrikes against Lebanon, as reported by the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health.

Israel and Hezbollah have been at odds since the start of the war in the Gaza Strip almost a year ago, but the violence escalated to an unprecedented level since 2006 two weeks ago when Israeli forces began a massive bombing campaign that has devastated entire towns and villages.

Gaza surpasses 41,700 deaths after a devastating day of Israeli attacks

The Gaza Strip surpassed 41,700 deaths on Thursday after nearly a year of Israeli offensive, following 24 hours of devastating attacks, according to the latest count from hospitals published by the Gaza Health Ministry, controlled by Hamas, as reported by Efe.

On Wednesday, 99 bodies and 169 injured arrived at hospitals in the enclave, bringing the total number of deaths since the start of the war to 41,788 and the number of injured to 96,794, not counting the thousands of bodies still buried under the rubble.

The figures released today, much higher than what has been recorded in the territory in recent weeks, coincide with an escalation of Israeli attacks across the entire Strip, including displaced centers that Israel claims Hamas uses to hide and plan attacks.
