Kate Middleton has reappeared at the men's final of Wimbledon, for the second time since she made public her cancer diagnosis, in time to watch the "rematch" between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic.

The Princess of Wales was greeted with a great ovation and with the audience on their feet. Kate Middleton followed almost the entire final wearing sunglasses, despite the cloudy skies that covered the central court for much of the match.

Prince William excused his absence to travel to Berlin and support England in the Eurocup final, accompanied by Prince George. Queen Camilla also appeared this week alongside her sister Annabel Elliot in the royal box at Wimbledon, which was overshadowed this year by rain that caused a 4% drop in the number of spectators.

Kate Middleton excused her absence from the women's final, which ended with a victory for Czech player Barbora Krejcikova over Italian player Jasmine Paolini, while confirming her decision to attend the men's final and the award ceremony, as she has been doing as the godmother of the All England Club.

As a big tennis fan, the Princess of Wales usually attended the final matches on the central court during the week. Throughout the week, there was speculation about her possible reappearance during the tournament, but it was not until this past Saturday that Kensington Palace confirmed it.

This is the second public appearance attended by Kate Middleton since her diagnosis, following her reappearance at the Trooping the Colors parade on June 15 to celebrate King Charles' birthday in advance. Her reappearance was accompanied by a brief message acknowledging that she is still undergoing chemotherapy treatment, making good progress but still not "out of danger."

The Princess of Wales herself has expressed her desire to return to public activities as soon as her health allows. Kensington Palace has also indicated that Kate Middleton may reappear at other events during the summer, depending on medical advice.

The Wimbledon final had been marked on her calendar for some time, with the memory still fresh of the 2023 tournament, where she witnessed the triumph of Carlos Alcaraz with King Felipe VI in the royal box. The Princess of Wales presented the prestigious trophy to the Spanish tennis player, who caused a sensation at the grass tennis cathedral in a fiercely contested match against his veteran rival.
