Although not in a major role, appearing in Harry Potter makes you an eternal actor. This is the case of British actor Simon Fisher-Becker, who had roles in films like 'Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone' and 'Doctor Who', and who has died at the age of 63, as reported by Efe.
The late actor's husband, Tony Dugdale, explained on Facebook that the actor passed away last Sunday but did not provide further details on the causes of his death. "Hello everyone. I am Tony, Simon's husband. I have very sad news. At 2:50 this afternoon (Sunday) Simon passed away," Dugdale added in a brief message where he received condolences from his loved ones.
Kim Barry, Fisher-Becker's agent at Jaffrey Management, also confirmed Fisher-Becker's death to CNN in a statement. "I not only lost a client, Simon Fisher-Becker, but a close personal friend of 15 years," the statement read. "He helped me tremendously and was always kind, courteous, and interested in everyone."
According to CNN, Fisher-Becker's first role in Hollywood came in the 1990s through a series of one-episode TV appearances in shows like 'Hale and Pace' and 'One Foot in the Grave'.
One of his most notable roles was in the first installment of the Harry Potter franchise, playing a ghost haunting the halls of Hogwarts.
Fisher-Becker also appeared in several episodes of the BBC science fiction television series "Doctor Who" as a recurring character named Dorium between 2010 and 2011, the network explains.
From 2013 to 2018, Fisher-Becker worked on three seasons of the UK-based science fiction television series "Waterside".
CNN notes that throughout the 2020s, Fisher-Becker lent his voice to Arthur Morstan in the miniseries 'Sherlock Holmes' and is credited as a voice actor in several podcast series, including 'Abnormal Stories' from 2022 and, his latest credit, 'Jenny - The Doctor's Daughter' in 2024.
