Donald Trump has managed to blur the lines between politics and celebrities in the US, with famous individuals being singled out based on their voting preferences. This Sunday, singer Taylor Swift was booed by part of the audience during the Super Bowl that pitted the Kansas City Chiefs against the Philadelphia Eagles, and the US president proudly stated that it was his supporters, as reported by Efe.
"The only one who had a worse night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift," the magnate said in a post on Truth Social, his social network. "She was booed as she left the stadium. MAGA ("Make America Great Again," the Trumpist base) does not forgive!" he added.
Swift attended the Super Bowl in New Orleans to watch her partner, Travis Kelce, the Chiefs' tight end, play. Their relationship has linked the artist's image to that of the Chiefs, as they represent one of the trendiest couples in the United States.
When she appeared on the stadium screens captured by the cameras, she was booed by some fans.
Although it might seem that the booing came from Philadelphia Eagles fans, Trump brought the sports rivalry into the political arena.
Swift publicly supported Trump's rival, Democrat Kamala Harris, during the recent election campaign.
Kelce said this week that it was a "great honor" for Trump to attend today's game, becoming the first US president to do so.
