The year is not over yet, but some are already thinking about next summer vacations. It is well known that those who plan ahead with travel bookings usually get cheaper prices than those who wait until closer to the departure date. Based on this premise, online flight search engines like Kayak have scoured the web to find the destinations where it will be cheaper to escape next year than in this ending 2024.

Topping the list is Tokyo, where the report on flight price fluctuations reveals a 16% decrease. The average cost of round-trip flights in economy class will be around 893 euros next summer. So, those who want to fully explore the many wonders of the Japanese capital should know that it will be more affordable in 2025. The second city on the list is also in the Land of the Rising Sun, Osaka, where flights have also dropped by 16%. Average price? Around 833 euros.

Leaving Asia (for a moment...) to head to Latin America. There, the city where it will be cheapest to travel next year is Bogotá, 15% cheaper, with round-trip flights priced at 762 euros. The fourth spot is taken by Reykjavik, the Icelandic capital, where costs have decreased by 8% and you can find tickets for 345 euros. Returning to Latin America, specifically to Buenos Aires, those who want to explore the Argentine capital should know that they can do so for an average flight price of 1,126 euros, always in economy class.

The 'top ten' cheapest destinations in 2025

The next three places on the list are in Asia. From Bangkok (7% cheaper, with flights starting from 801 euros) to Kuala Lumpur (also 7% cheaper with an average ticket price of 727 euros) and Hanoi, in Vietnam, where flights are 6% cheaper with an average price of around 1,126 euros.

From the Old Continent, Kayak only mentions Rome, the eternal city, a destination that one must visit at least once in a lifetime. Trying their artisanal pinsas (a lighter version of the classic pizzas with a local twist), riding a Vespa, exploring the Colosseum, or strolling through the Spanish Steps will be 5% cheaper next summer. The average round-trip flight price in economy class is 129 euros.

The last metropolis on this top ten list is Seoul, the vibrant capital of South Korea. Those who choose it as their vacation destination will save 5% on flights, with an average cost of 879 euros.
