The city center will have a new nightclub in partnership with The Madrid Edition hotel. The nightclub Mística will open its doors next Friday in the basement of the establishment, located in Plaza de las Descalzas Reales, just a few meters from Puerta del Sol.

The venue had been operating only for private events last year, but now this hidden gem is opening to the public.

The goal is to create a space in the heart of the capital that is sophisticated, eclectic, and multigenerational, attracting customers of all ages starting from 25 years old.

Although Madrid Edition is a five-star hotel, the nightclub aims to be more affordable and become a meeting point for hotel guests and locals.

The Madrid Edition -the most exclusive brand of Marriott International- has always sought to combine sophisticated luxury with entertainment. It is no coincidence that the creator of this brand is Ian Schrager, founder of the legendary New York nightclub Studio 54, a cultural hotspot in the 70s.

"We want to revive the spirit of Studio 54 and change the entertainment offering in downtown Madrid with a distinctive, fresh, and fun venue. We are open to all audiences: from a 60-year-old with a young spirit to a 25-year-old. We aim for them to share common interests in art, design, and music," said Patricia Fernández, Sales and Marketing Director of the hotel, to El Mundo yesterday.

Edition hotels in Barcelona, Times Square in New York, West Hollywood, and Singapore also have their own nightclubs, and now Madrid joins the list. The venue will have a separate entrance from the hotel to distinguish nightlife from daytime activities, and the entrance fee will be 25 euros.

The music will be curated by resident DJs and international artists, playing electronic music with disco, house, and afro-house rhythms. The venue -designed by British architect John Pawson- has two floors: the first floor houses the dance floor with state-of-the-art sound system, immersive lighting, and visual projections.

The second floor is reserved for VIP booths with a private atmosphere and bottle service. The club also features two bars offering a curated selection of cocktails, one of the highlights of Madrid Edition.

The nightclub will be open from Thursday to Saturday from 11:30 pm to 5:30 am, and on September 20, 21, 27, and 28, the music will be provided by Dagho, Fever DJ, Senda Fatal, Toni Aparisi, and El Cuerpo del Disco.

The Madrid Edition opened in March 2022 and is located in the former headquarters of Monte de Piedad, where locals used to pawn their jewelry and clothes. On the rooftop of this luxury urban resort is the Peruvian restaurant Oroya, and on the ground floor, Market opened this summer, a Spanish market cuisine establishment replacing the Mexican restaurant Jerónimo.

Market is accessed through the famous Pedro de Ribera portico, offering dishes from cod fritters to pork cracklings or scallops. The hotel lobby also hides a Punch Room, a speakeasy bar paying homage to punches and classic cocktails.
