Meghan, Duchess of Sussex reportedly won't appear in a new Suits spin-off.
The former actress played paralegal Rachel Zane in the original show from 2011 until 2017 after she began dating Prince Harry, and the series — which ended in 2019 — is being given a new lease of life as Suits: LA, but a new report has confirmed fans hoping to see Meghan make a return to TV will be disappointed.
An insider told Dailymail.co.uk: "Meghan was clear that she didn't want to be involved as an actor."
The report also stated Meghan and Harry's Archewell production company won't be involved in the new Suits series either.
Meghan previously reacted to the spin-off news, telling Variety: "Isn't that wild?" before adding of Suits: "It was great to work on, such a great cast and crew. We had a really fun time.
"I was on it for seven seasons, so quite a bit. But it's hard to find a show you can binge-watch that many episodes of these days, so that could have something to do with it. But good shows are everlasting."
The new show will be set in Los Angeles rather than New York City and will be in the same world as the original, but will feature different characters. The main character will be a former federal prosecutor called Ted Black who has relocated from New York to the West Coast.
Production is slated to start in Vancouver, Canada in March.
A synopsis of Suits: LA reads: "[Ted's] firm is at a crisis point, and in order to survive he must embrace a role he held in contempt his entire career.
"Ted is surrounded by a stellar group of characters who test their loyalties to both Ted and each other while they can't help but mix their personal and professional lives.
"All of this is going on while events from years ago slowly unravel that led Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved."
