After playing Asha — a less than unconventional princess — in Disney's Wish, Ariana DeBose is ready for a new adventure.
The Academy award winner is starring in Gabriela Cowperthwaite's upcoming sci-fi thriller I.S.S., which is set to be released in theaters on January 19, 2024. Taking place in the International Space Station, the actress portrays a United States astronaut alongside John Gallagher and Chris Messina. Masha Mashkova, Pilou Asbæk and Costa Ronin star as Russian astronauts, respectively.
Both groups exist in harmony aboard the I.S.S., performing their daily activities and tasks. However, when a series of unexpected events happen down on Earth, they are forced to take matters into their own hands change.
The film's — which already premiered earlier this year at the Tribeca Film Festival — synopsis reads, "Tensions flare in the near future aboard the International Space Station (I.S.S.) as a worldwide conflict breaks out on Earth. Reeling, the US and Russian astronauts aboard each receive orders from the ground: take control of the station by any means necessary."
The actress has a series of projects lined up for next year. Ariana is also part of the star-studded cast of the spy film Argylle, together with Samuel L. Jackson, Dua Lipa, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Henry Cavill. The movie is due to be released on February 2, 2024.
Other movies we can expect to see her in soon include House of Spoils, acting opposite America Ferrera, the Sony superhero film Kraven the Hunter, and My Ex-Friend's Wedding, a comedy starring Amanda Seyfried, among others.
