Considered one of the best comedians in the world of entertainment, Rowan Atkinson (70), internationally known as Mr. Bean, is in the spotlight due to the surprising statements made by his daughter Lily (29) about her parents' divorce. This happened in November 2015 when, after 24 years of marriage to Sunetra Sastry, a former BBC makeup artist, a quick divorce lasting 65 seconds took place.

"Unreasonable behavior," highlighted the media at the time, referring to the actor's infidelity with actress Louise Ford, 28 years younger than him, whom he fell in love with while performing the play Quartermaine's Terms. It was Sunetra who initiated all the procedures, as they had been living separately for two years in the marital home. Lily has stated that the breakup plunged her into "darkness," "chaos," and she went through "great loneliness in her twenties."

After a stint in music and as a burlesque dancer, Lily is now an artist showcasing her work in small London galleries, which has been a great challenge as it took her several years to rediscover herself. "Now that I'm 30, I can clearly see where I was and what was happening inside me during the darkest days (...) I was so lost that I only started to feel vaguely normal at the end of my twenties. I have always been caught between two worlds; I don't belong here, but I don't belong there either."

In 2017, Lily decided to change her last name from her father's to her mother's, sparking rumors about a possible strained relationship between Rowan and his daughter. Family members assured that this was not true. The young woman has been very open about her emotional state after her parents' sad divorce, as she has stated that "it is difficult to discover who you are amidst the lack of friends, a broken family, and no idea of how to navigate making music and trying to understand the world."

Shortly before deciding to divorce, Rowan and Sunetra were building a country mansion in Oxfordshire County worth over 14 million dollars. After the final breakup, she stayed in the family residence worth 27 million dollars in London, and he acquired another property worth five million dollars in Hampstead, an elite area where Elizabeth Taylor was born in 1932.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Rowan Atkinson has amassed a fortune of 150 million dollars, allowing him to indulge Louise, known for portraying Kate Middleton in the comedy series The Windsors (2016). Interestingly, the comedian is very close to the British royal family as he attended the wedding of the then Prince of Wales with Camilla Parker and later that of Prince William with Kate alongside Sunetra.

In December 2017, the star of Mr. Bean welcomed his daughter Isla, from his relationship with Louise. From his previous marriage, he has another son, Ben (31), who is in the military.
