Canadian musician Bryan Adams has donated the profits from his concert on January 19th in the city of Valencia to the Fundació Horta Sud. A non-profit organization that is channeling part of the resources being used to alleviate the effects of the dana that devastated some towns in the Valencian Community last November. An announcement that he had already made public during his performance on the stage at Fuente de San Luis
"Today is a very special night because we were playing here in Spain when the floods in Valencia occurred, and we saw what happened to your beautiful community. There were many people affected who lost their homes, cars, etc., and that's why we have decided that the profits from tonight's concert will go to help those people. My band and I really want to applaud all of you," the singer affirmed before receiving a great ovation from the audience gathered in the pavilion. After the loud applause, Adams and his band improvised a version of Come Together, one of the great Beatles songs
The Horta Sud Community Foundation (FCHS) has been operating in the region for 52 years, which in recent months has become the ground zero of the dana. After the disaster caused in those localities, the association launched a fundraising campaign to support the social recovery of the territory. In fact, they were also in charge of managing the money from the tickets of the multiple concerts that took place in different parts of Spain within the Som València cycle. Artists like Carolina Durante, Zahara, Alizzz, Judeline, or Paula Cendejas participated in it.
Donations from artists have been a constant towards the Valencian Community since the passage of the dana. In addition, many members of the cultural world have joined the reconstruction efforts in the affected towns. Singers like Rosalía or Aitana joined cleaning patrols or distributed food alongside chef Jose Andrés.
