For the director of Taxi Driver (1976) and The Wolf of Wall Street (2013), everything is worth it for the love of the youngest in the family, Francesca (24), the daughter he has with his fifth wife, Helen S. Morris, editor at Random House. From previous relationships, Martin Scorsese has two other daughters, Cathy (58) and Domenica (48).

When Scorsese turned 80 years old, he discovered a great ability for narrating audiovisual pieces, specifically, TikTok videos. Being one of the kings of cinema, he had no problem finding his way. Through his daughter, the audience has discovered lesser-known aspects of the filmmaker, such as his ability to narrate some facts in a funny way. This time, the Italian-born director hilariously narrated Francesca's makeup routine. Numerous international media outlets like People, Page Six, Harper's Bazaar, El Imparcial, and Daily Mail are talking about it.

"Oh my goodness! She's poking her eye out! Oh my goodness! Stop!" referring to the moment when the young woman curls her eyelashes. But the fun show started when Francesca prepares her complexion with foundation: "It looks like a clown face," says the parent. Then, when it comes to blending, he confirms that she "taps, lots of taps," and putting his hand on his head exclaims, "Oh, look, she's darkening them!" "I don't know if she needs to do that," regarding her eyebrows.

As a narrator, Scorsese remains unique. While Francesca looks intently at herself in the main image, in a small box, her father can be seen making all kinds of faces because he finds the entire makeup process incredible. Out loud, he wonders what all this is for and appears somewhat frustrated. And his daughter responds, "This is what I do every day."

Another funny moment came when the director of Raging Bull (1980) comments to Francesca that the outline of her lips is too big. It is then when Martin scolds her for using lip gloss: "You can't fool me, that's nail polish." And finally, Scorsese concludes: "You are crazy, I swear." By then, his daughter has finished her beauty ritual.

In other videos posted on TikTok, father and daughter show some of the memorabilia they have distributed in their mansion, the young woman teaches her father different words in slang (colloquial jargon), Scorsese watches as his daughter and a friend get tattoos...

This is not the first time Martin Scorsese has dealt with new technologies as he has set a record for followers on Letterboxd, another social network specializing in TV series and film topics where movies can be critiqued, rated, and organized. This way, anyone can explore and connect with other fans. A new way of understanding images that is gradually changing audiovisual culture.
