Jesse Jane, a porn star in the 2000s, died from an accidental overdose of fentanyl and cocaine according to the Oklahoma City Medical Examiner's office, as reported by TMZ.
The actress was found dead at the age of 43 in January at a residence in Moore, Oklahoma, alongside her boyfriend Brett Hasenmueller, by Moore Police Department officers conducting a routine welfare check at the home.
Police initially suspected an overdose as the cause of death, which has now been confirmed by the forensic study. Jesse Jane passed away from an accidental overdose of fentanyl and cocaine.
Jesse Jane started her career at the Hooters restaurant chain and participated in various beauty pageants before entering the porn industry.
She became one of the biggest porn stars in the 2000s and is remembered for her roles in renowned adult films like Pirates II: Stagnetti's Revenge, with a budget exceeding 8 million dollars. It was the highest-budget film series in its genre. Additionally, she hosted two shows for Playboy Channel and presented the AVN Awards (the porn industry's equivalent of the Oscars) on multiple occasions.
She also appeared in popular TV shows and movies such as Starsky & Hutch, Entourage, and The Bad Girls Club.
Following her death, Brian Gross, a porn industry publicist, described her as "an actress during a time when adult films were seen worldwide, and promotions were massive. She made sure to give her all, not only in her performances but also in promotions," in a statement to the New York Times.
