The film catapulted its protagonist, Tom Hanks (68), who portrays Forrest Gump, an unforgettable character that has become the pinnacle of his career. Thanks to him, he won his second Oscar for Best Actor. The first one he received a year earlier, in 1993, for Philadelphia. He has since been nominated for other works, such as Saving Private Ryan (1998) or Cast Away (2001).
