A new year and for Christina Aguilera (43), a new look. On January 2, the acclaimed singer made her debut at her Las Vegas residency, leaving thousands of fans speechless with the radical change in her appearance. Some say that the American singer has lost some 40 pounds.
According to insiders close to Christina, her physical transformation is thanks to a shift in her habits, having adopted a healthy diet filled with fruits and vegetables, sugar-free products, and a complete absence of ultra-processed foods. Aguilera follows a demanding exercise routine, training between two to five days a week, including activities like yoga, boxing, cardio, weightlifting, and muscle-strengthening disciplines, as reported by In Touch.
Despite this, social media accounts suspect that her weight loss may not be solely attributed to her time spent in the gym, but rather with the popular injection Ozempic that helps the body to reduce the level of sugar in the blood and is used as an effective tool in the fight against obesity. However, Aguilera has never spoken about about this or any other medication. On the contrary, the singer has always spoken fondly of her curves.
Over the past 15 years, the artist behind hits like Fighter and Beautiful has experienced several fluctuations in her weight. The first noticeable change occurred after giving birth to her firstborn. However, the following year, the singer went on a 1,600-calorie diet to regain her figure and appear "smaller" on screen, successfully achieving her goal. But, then, an emotional slump destabilized her: in 2010, she separated from Jordan Bratman.
Four years later, the star became pregnant with her current partner, Matt Rutler, welcoming her second daughter, Summer, which prompted another physical transformation. Despite attempting to reverse this weight gain with a restrictive diet, according to L'Officiel, in 2020, she gave in. Aguilera stated that she didn't want to go on another duet. What's more, two years ago she noted that she had learned to "love her curves".
"We all have good and bad days when it comes to how we feel. I, at first, hated being super skinny. But at 21, I became a bit fuller and started to love myself. I would never relive my 20s because as you grow older, you stop comparing yourself to others and start appreciating your body. I used to feel very insecure, lacked self-confidence. But today, I appreciate having a good butt," she revealed to Health magazine in 2021.
