GENEVA (SWITZERLAND)
We jump to Switzerland and, specifically, to the shores of Lake Geneva, where Geneva is located and its fantastic Christmas market, in the purest style of a fairy tale. Called Noël au Quai (Christmas on the quay), you can stroll among the souvenir stalls, handmade items and figurines for the nativity scene with a mulled wine and stop to taste the classic fondue moitié-moitié, made with two types of cheese: Gruyère and Vacherin Fribourgeois

ASTI-GOVONE (ITALY)
It is now the turn of the Italian region of Piedmont, where Il magico paese di Natale (or the magical Christmas village) is located, a description that has already become famous in the towns of Asti and Govone. Both share a festive atmosphere with countless food and craft stalls, living nativity scenes and the very house of Babbo Natale, the local Santa Claus

VALKENBURG AAN DE GEUL (NETHERLANDS)
The seventh of those chosen by Best European Destination is Valkenburg, a pleasant Dutch town in the province of Limburg where Christmas is taken very seriously. For starters, the market is located under the ruins of the town's castle, recreated as a cave. Its popular parade is also considered the most spectacular in Europe

MONTBÉLIARD (FRANCE)
The top ten would not be complete if it did not include a French destination. And the one chosen this year was Montbéliard, in the northwest of the Franche-Comté region, which received 44,223 votes. For a reason it is typified as the best flea market in France. One of its main distinguishing features is its spectacular lighting, as well as the 140 wooden huts that house stalls of all kinds of products
