Balmain, Spring-Summer 25: Hoop skirts and shoulder pads for bodies that defy limits
The hand that rocks the crinoline. Balmain's grandiloquent, sophisticated and theatrical spring-summer 2025 collection brought sculptural looks to the catwalk that challenge the limits of the body to create new volumes that exalt femininity. Large hips and narrow waists with crinolines and futuristic shoulders with exaggerated angular shoulder pads were the stars of a show with clear references to iconic moments of the house, in a show that surprises from the first look with hands that embrace the silhouette and dresses that seem to be made of clay, molded on the model's body. Olivier Rousteing's proposals reflect his fascination with the anatomy of women and his search for new shapes. The spectacular show reinvents the classics of the maison, such as the sailor-striped sweater with pearls and chains, and maintains the artisanal and sophisticated luxury of the brand.
